Shrewsbury, St Chad - former light eight

The bells on this recording are the Treble and 3 - 8 of the current ring of twelve, plus a sharp second. This bell was cast by Taylors in 1962 from the metal of the clock bell of the town's Victorian market hall.

It had the inscription 'To tell passing hours was my former fame;
                                    With new note now I praise God's Holy Name.'

It lasted until 2000, when it was sold to Albrighton church as part of the remodelling of the ring.
