Child's Ercall, St Michael and All Angels

3 bells, Tenor 6-3-0 in C                   Ground floor                         SJ 666251

Sunday: Variable - check with tower correspondent

Friday: 7.30 - 9.00pm

The Tenor is cracked, and the bells sound as the front three of a ring of five. The Treble bears no date nor founder's mark and was probably cast in the 17th century. The second was cast by William Blews and Sons of Birmingham in 1868. There is no founder's mark on the Tenor, but it was probably cast at the Clibury foundry of Wellington towards the end of the 16th century.

The bells all retain their canons and are hung from wooden headstocks in a wooden frame (Pickford 3.1: A1, B3, C2). The plain bearings all have wooden covers. The wheels are in poor condition and that of the treble is of unconventional design.
