Child's Ercall, St Michael and All Angels

3 bells, tenor 6-3-0 in C                   Ground floor                          SJ 666251

Sunday: Variable - check with tower correspondent

Friday: 7.30 - 9.00pm

The treble bears no date nor founder's mark. Walters suggests it might date from the 16th or 17th centuries. The second was cast by William Blews and Sons of Birmingham in 1868. There is no founder's mark on the Tenor, but Walters suggests John Clibury of Wellington in 1590.

The bells all retain their cannons and are hung from wooden headstocks in a wooden frame (Pickford 3.1: A1, B3, C2). The plain bearings all have wooden covers. The wheels are in poor condition and that of the treble is of unconventional design.
